  27.     The PAR, while very satisfactory, is NOT a perfect solution.  In
  28. certain (specific) situations it demonstrates significant JPEG artifacting.

  30.     Good news.  DPS, the makers of the PAR, have a new product out that
  31. has higher specs than the PAR.  This should be a practically perfect solution
  32. (since the PAR was very very close).  Premiering at the NAB this week.

  34.     For highest-end video applications, the PAR doesn't quite make the cut.
  35. For the prices you are talking about (alpha workstation) you should buy the
  36. alpha, buy a compact NT box (Pentium), and use the Pentium as your output 
  37. machine.

  39.     Save money-- ruggedize your NT box and cart it around to lay-off
  40. animations.  You save a minimum of $15K US on buying a deck, AND you don't have
  41. to maintain the deck.
